We are happy to invite you to our next hybrid Regional Group Meeting in Stockholm on 14 May 2025, 4:00 pm.
Speakers Prof. Dr. Fedra Vanhuyse (Head of Division - Societies, Climate and Policy Support, Senior Research Fellow | Stockholm Environment Institute) and Tommaso Piseddu (Research Associate | Stockholm Environment Institute) will provide insights into the MAVERIC project with a focus on "Material Assets Valuation: Estimating Risks and Impacts of Climate Change".
This project will provide financial actors with a climate risk valuation method for material assets (buildings, land, and land installations). The aim is to better understand climate related risks, predict revenue and capital appreciation but also to adhere to disclosure regulations.
For example, the project aims to answer the following questions:
- How will climate change impact material assets?
- What physical and transition climate risks should different actors incorporate on their risk register?
- How can valuation methods incorporate cascading and simultaneous climate risks?
The MAVERIC project is a collaboration between research institutions, the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and actors from the private sector to understand and estimate the risks for the real estate industry posed by climate change.
